Today was a day of fresh starts!
We started moving the smaller items into the house first thing this morning – our boxes of books, kitchen stuff, bathroom stuff – basically, anything we could fit into a box and get into the house on our own. The big stuff is moving tomorrow, which means we’ve got one more night in our apartment before we get to stay in the house!
I took a break from moving to get my haircut, which I’ve been neglecting for weeks now due to all of the house stuff. Ever since I was in high school, I’ve wanted a pixie cut and I never had the guts to do it – today, I did it. I blame Beyonce and her Homecoming performance on Netflix – I watched it last night and she made me feel like a boss bitch, which resulted in me chopping off all of my hair. Thank you Beyonce, because I love it and I’m obsessed. I don’t know why I didn’t do this earlier.
After I got my haircut I went back to the house to relieve Sean of packing duties so that he could go watch the NFL draft in downtown Nashville with one of his friends. I unpacked and organized our kitchen, which quickly made me realize that our cabinets in this house are much taller than they were in our apartment – a footstool is a necessity. After the kitchen came my books. One of my favorite things about this house is that it has a designated office with built-in bookcases. *Swoon*
After hours of unpacking and a trip to the Container Store, I met Sean at the apartment and he surprised me with the most outstanding news – he got his official acceptance letter into Nursing School! He starts school full time this fall! I am so proud of him and how hard he’s worked for this. He balanced working full time with going to school part time, on top of being a great partner, so that he could qualify for and get into a nursing school program.
To say that the end of this week has been an emotional roller-coaster would be an understatement. But it’s thankfully been emotional in the best sorts of ways. I ended this wonderful day and amazing week with a eucalyptus spearmint bubble bath and Beyonce on repeat.
